After an introduction about territory maps by Prof Bruce Hanington, we were asked to brainstorm on some of the areas we as a group were interested in the context of ‘Information’. Each one of us came up with several topics and issues individually and shared our thoughts in the group. Some of the topics covered were self identity, news, disaster preparedness, navigation, bridging the gap between information & action and cross-cultural communication.
The discussion on the topics pointed out some key areas that we all were interested in and we presented them to others in the class. The two topics: urgent/ disaster preparedness (the way of keeping, organizing, storing and sharing important information) and cross-cultural communication received interesting feedback from others. After getting the feedback, the group voted for the topic of disaster preparedness considering the need of ‘preparedness’ at different levels of individual to global situations.
